Austin Welcomes Their Austin Aces!

Has all this talk about the Austin Aces got you wondering who these guys really are? The Austin Aces are a professional tennis team in Austin’s backyard. The Mylan World TeamTennis Team will be playing their inaugural season in July 2014 in Austin, Texas.

Andy Roddick, Austin resident and former world #1, will lead the Austin Aces during the 2014 season. Roddick intends to play both home and away matches for the season. Marion Bartoli, 2013 Wimbledon Champion, will be joining the Aces in all 7 home matches. Former world #2, Vera Zvonareva, and doubles specialist Treat Huey along with the tallest player of the WTA Tour, Eva Hrdinova, will also be on the roster for the inaugural July 2014 season.

Lorne Abony, Austin Aces team owner and Canadian businessman resides in Austin. The former CEO of Mood Media Corporation has been at the base of the foundation of numerous media ventures.  He is also a tennis player and fan and member of the Competition Committee of the ATP.

The 2014 inaugural season is three weeks in July, but the Austin Aces will be present throughout the year attending tennis clinics, charity events, community outreach programs, and other special events.  All matches will be held at the Cedar Park Center which allows for family-friendly fan interaction and up-close-and-personal access to the stars.
