As summer heats up in Austin, you may be tempted to skip some of the outdoor events scheduled for the coming month to miss out on sweltering under the hot sun. Well, we have good news for you!
On Saturday, August 8th, there will be the perfect outdoor event to keep you cool! You will not want to miss Barton Spring Fest 2015.
Next Saturday, head to Barton Springs Pool to learn about Barton Springs and the Edwards Aquifer as you listen to live music, watch an exciting diving competition, join in on workshops, and celebrate sustainable living. Barton Springs Fest 2015 is hosted by Save Our Springs and is the perfect chance to get educated about this important water source and commemorate the passing of the Save Our Springs Ordinance on August 8th, 1992.
Barton Springs Pool is well worth protecting. Nestled in Zilker Park, this three-acre expanse of water keeps a temperature of 68 to 70 degrees all year round! The pool is 18 feet deep in some parts and there are stretches of soft grass for you to lounge on when you are not taking a dip.
