Ditch Distracted Driving

Do You Know Your Risk On The Road?
You know the feeling. You are heading down the road and your cell phone starts ringing. You look over to see who is calling, and, during that split second the car in front of you hits its brakes. You slam on your brakes, heart pounding, you narrowly avoid an accident.
To combat this issue, laws have been passed in many places making it illegal to use a cell phone while driving unless the phone is hands-free. These new laws mean that unless you are using a Bluetooth interface or headset, you should no longer be taking calls while driving.
Unfortunately, there are studies showing that even hands-free calling is not much safer because it distracts your brain from the important job at hand. Of course, texting and driving is much more dangerous. In the time it takes you to send a text, your eyes could have been off the road for the length of a football field. Would you choose to cover that distance blindfolded? Studies show that distracted driving can be as dangerous as drunk driving. To best safeguard yourself and others on the road, practice safe driving and avoid all phone use while driving.
