Save The Date: The 25th Annual Lights Spectacular!

If you are ready for Thanksgiving to be over, and for Christmas season to begin, then we have exciting news for you! Tis the season for the 25th Annual Lights Spectacular season-long celebration in Historic Johnson City! Beginning on November 28th you are invited to welcome the holiday season by turning on your Christmas lights, and leaving them lit until January 1st of the New Year. The Lighted Hooves and Wheels Parade is scheduled to kick off the celebration, and will take place on the Saturday night after Thanksgiving.
You will not want to miss this one of a kind celebration! Southern Living Magazine named the festival “the Centerpiece of one of the biggest shows on the Texas Hill Country Regional Christmas Lighting Trail.” The town courthouse will be covered in over 100,000 lights, while the Pedernales Electric Coop’s Headquarters will boast more than 1 million, wow! Official lighting of the Blanco county Courthouse will take place on Friday, November 28th at 6:30 PM, complete with a firework show. Additionally, there will be food vendors, hayrides, carriage rides, Santa, and more! There will be few other opportunities to see something this spectacular!
If you would like to start your Christmas shopping a bit early, come on down to the Courthouse and look through the holiday ornaments and crafts that the Garden Club has available for purchase.
If you think your light display puts all others to shame, feel free to enter the Light Decorating Contest. The deadline for the competition is December 4th, so get to work! The competition will continue through December 9th.
